Reuben Davis was born around 1762. (Alabama Patriots Searchable Database, 2026) 8 He is
identified in a published list of pensioners in the Mobile Daily Register (August 14, 1859), which
indicates he was recognized as a soldier of the American Revolutionary War. (Mobile Daily
Register, 1859) 9 Specific details of his service are unknown. Davis likely served in a state militia
with short-term enlistments which were typical of southern or frontier soldiers. He later lived in
Chambers County, Alabama, where he was part of the early settler population. The location of
his gravesite is unknown.
