Penny Lewis

Penny Lewis was born around 1754. (Alabama Patriots Searchable Database, 2026) 37 Her death

in 1860 was recorded in regional death notices such as Burials and Deaths Reported in the

Columbus Enquirer, 1832–1872. (Wright, 1984) 38 She is believed to have been buried in Russell

County, Alabama. Penny may have provided support to the revolutionary cause, but no details

have been recorded. The location of her gravesite is unknown.
