Georgia militia during the American Revolutionary War. His pension records indicate he served
under Captain Clarke and Colonels Clarke and Dunn. His service would have involved local
defense, marches, and engagements against British and Loyalist forces in Georgia. He is
believed to be buried at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Chambers County,

Stephen Nolen was born in 1753 in Virginia. He died on October 26, 1846, in Chambers County,

Carolina militia during the American Revolutionary War. His service is referenced in records
such as Salley and Wates’ Stub Entries to Indents, which document compensation claims for
Revolutionary service. Like many militia soldiers, his duties likely included patrols, local
defense, and participation in skirmishes during the southern campaigns. He is buried in the old
graveyard of Sweet Home Methodist Church near Lafayette in Chambers County. (Stephen
