served in the North Carolina militia during the American Revolutionary War. Like many militia
soldiers from North Carolina, his service consisted of multiple short tours, responding to local
threats and participating in regional campaigns against British and Loyalist forces. His duties
would have included scouting, guarding settlements, and engaging in skirmishes typical of
southern militia warfare. The location of his gravesite is unknown.
